Internships

As an intern on our Analyst Development Internship Program, you’ll join data experts to serve Liberty Mutual’s various stakeholders with timely and on-point analysis. You’ll also drive independent projects—the perfect opportunity to add some shine to your resume! Best of all, successful interns often go on to become full-time Liberty Mutual employees.

Activities include:

Participating in a diverse mix of short and long-term projects that directly impact business results
Retrieving, analyzing, and presenting operational datasets to peers and managers
Developing fluency in key drivers of business results
On the job training that grows your industry knowledge, business acumen, data analytics skillsets (inclusive of: strategic, analytical, and technical)

Analyst Development Program

What will you learn as a member of our Analyst Development Program? Data analytics, data mining, pricing strategy, critical thinking skills, data analytics, business case development, presentation skills, and the list goes on. You’ll interact, and rotate, through multiple departments to learn how Liberty Mutual harnesses data to drive business decisions and make a difference in the lives of our customers.

Program includes:

On-the-job training that grows your industry knowledge, business acumen, and data analytics skillsets (inclusive of: strategic, analytical, and technical)
Opportunity to rotate through various teams to explore the many areas that data analytics impacts Liberty Mutual’s business
Exposure to modern quantitative and qualitative methods for data-driven decision making

Measure Brand Recall

Assess the impact that marketing campaigns like LiMu the Emu and Doug have on unaided awareness by sourcing data, analyzing it, and drawing actionable conclusions that drive future recommendations. Team members will also gain experience conducting competitive analyses.

Influence Pricing Strategy

If there’s an increase of home fires in a specific U.S. state, we’ll want to know why so we can best serve our customers, as well as adjust our pricing efforts in that location. Is the cause environmental? Has the quality of the home deteriorated? You’ll gather data on these questions, evaluate it, and make recommendations for improvement.

Improve Customer Experience

Customers call our service centers for many important reasons, and it’s crucial they get what they need, when they need it. By gathering data on day-to-day activities and initiatives, as well as analyzing historical trends and defining new metrics, you can influence improvements to our customer experience.

The Analyst Development Program has provided me with the necessary skillset to become a well-rounded analyst while fostering an inclusive environment for analysts in the program. I have benefited from the rotational aspect of the program with the opportunity to explore different areas of the business while developing crucial skills needed in the data analytics space and in the insurance industry. I have felt supported throughout my time in the program when it came to my personal growth from my peers and managers.
