Sophisticated Expense Projections

Here, it doesn’t take long for new team members to be exposed to projects with big implications. A Financial Management Program Associate, for instance, built an expense target model that simplified how costs are categorized by incorporating market growth, inflation, and fixed/variable expenses. The model was an invaluable asset to our Finance, Reporting, Production & Operations team.

Accounting for Shifts in Standard & Poor’s (S&P) Methodology

During a recent rotation, an Associate conducted a study to illustrate the potential impact of proposed changes by the S&P to its insurance rating methodology. The report, later presented to the Board of Directors Risk Committee, assessed how our ratings might evolve, identified risk areas, and determined possible outcomes.

US Personal Lines Planning

Changes in operational metrics can significantly impact our bottom line, so an Associate’s recent efforts to create a planning model that could quantify that impact in dollars was important. The exhibit, which was automated in Excel, jump-started our analysis, helped identify key drivers of plan changes, and spurred conversations with planning partners.

In my first rotation alone, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with analysts and managers across various business functions. It’s rewarding to work with such a supportive team, and to see how my work truly makes an impact.

Jenny W.

When looking for job opportunities after graduation, I knew I wanted to work at a company that shared my values. Fortunately, I was able to find that at Liberty as a finance intern and now as a part of the Financial Management Program. This experience has allowed me to explore career paths across Finance & Accounting, create lasting relationships with co-workers across departments, and develop a wide range of skills in an environment that fits me.
