As a valued member of our claims team, you’ll help our customers get back on their feet when the unexpected happens. As an intern or entry-level employee in our Global Risk Solutions or U.S. Retail Markets (USRM) groups, you’ll hone your investigative skills, track and resolve cases, and deliver exceptional service to customers who look to you for help.

Internships

Start your career in the Claims industry through an internship! You’ll experience how Liberty Mutual investigates claims and supports our customers through every type of challenge—all while partnering with experienced claims professionals.

Activities include:

Working alongside a Claims professional through all aspects of the claims process
Exploring how Liberty Mutual makes critical claims decisions, such as liability, compensability, and settlement
Learning about the intricacies of our investigative and claims operations
Completing a summer internship project that you’ll present to colleagues, managers and/or senior leadership

Entry-level opportunities

In training, you’ll start learning a specialty while handling claims. You’ll be paired with a mentor that supports you in performing investigations and decisions that make our customers’ lives whole again.

Specialty opportunities includes:

Working in Auto/Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Property, Bodily Injury, or No Fault
Graduating into a team of claims specialists and working with a mentor who will support your growth and development
Conducting investigations, providing consultation to customers and/or external stakeholders, and driving settlement negotiations in a timely and effective manner

Property

Assess and repair our customers residential property damage, ranging from minor damage to damage caused by catastrophic weather events

Auto Physical Damage

Investigate, estimate, and settle our customers' claims due to an automobile accident where there is physical damage to a vehicle

US Casualty

Claims that are triggered by injury complexity, very high limits and/or complexity of coverage. Pertaining to environmental, construction defect, labor law, intellectual property, mass tort and class action, dram shop cases

Workers Compensation

Provides front line customer service to injured workers, employers, agents and brokers supporting small to large sized customers, work-related accidents, diseases and death
